Links for NSF Funding Proposals

I searched the NSF website to find the following information:

  • List of all funding and due dates
  • IGERT information letter of intent due May 1
  • REU information
  • Transforming Undergraduate Education – I don’t quite understand what this is, but it seems like what I want to do is directly aligned with these values based on the title of the grant alone.
  • Research Allocation Committee at UNM – Jacqueline pointed me to this. Talking to people in the university could be really powerful. Maybe establish something that is at UNM only could make UNM a leader in the field and thus would make the higher ups happy, and GPSA as well (since we’re always complaining about the priority of athletics over academics).

I feel like this initiative has to happen in one of two ways. Either I get something from a major funding agency that specializes in funding education and training initiatives (ie NSF IGERT/REU programs), or I convince the university to take an active stance as a leader in an active initiative (that I’m sure they aren’t aware of going on on their own campus) and to fund the project that way. Either way I’m not really in a position to do this, but really there is no better person than me to lead the call.

Challenges await!
